Church and State Viognier 2007

Viognier is a varietal just starting to burst on the international wine scene. This lovely example boasts vibrant floral and honeysuckle aromas and is bursting with tropical flavours of banana, pineapple with hints of apricot and nectarines. Lovely balance and freshness.

Averill Creek “Somenos” Rose 2007

Vancouver Island, BC



The 2007 Rose is 100% Pinot Noir which was left to cold macerate for 4 days before it was pressed off to make the rose. The wine is immediately eye catching with its vibrant pink colour. The nose leaps out of the glass with powerful candied strawberry aromas. The wine is surprisingly dry on the palate with a soft fruity middle and a crisp Provence finish.

Byron Vineyards & Winery “Nielson Vineyard” Pinot Noir 2006

Santa Maria Valley



Nielson is classic Santa Maria Bench Pinot Noir. The colour suggests a wine of depth and brilliance. The bouquet is forward and bright with cherry, dark plum, dried herbs, earth and smoke.  The flavours are lush and complete with a core of dark fruit, sandalwood and spice. The tannins are gentle and well integrated.

Chateau d'Orignac has won accolades in France and throughout the world. It is made from two thirds grape must (Cabernet and Merlot) and one third Cognac and takes almost 10 years to produce which results in an intense, complex nose of peaches, apricots, honey, almonds and Cognac and an unforgettably smooth texture on the palate.

Auntsfield Estate “Hawk Hill” Pinot Noir 2007

Marlborough, New Zealand



Hawk Hill is named after the majestic Harrier Hawks which glide over Auntfield’s elevated north facing slopes where a variety of low cropped Pinot Noir are carefully nurtured. Deep ruby in colour, this intensely concentrated Pinot Noir has aromas of ripe cherry with underlying savoury notes. A rich palate of berry fruit and plum flavours with hints of mocha and spice integrate with soft tannins to reveal a beautifully balanced wine with length and complexity.

Blackbird Vineyards “Illustration” 2006

Optimal with decanting, this elegant, full-bodied wine unfolds with aromatic notes of black cherry, toffee, cocoa powder, iris flower, and subtle leather. Upon entry, the rich, focused core, with its boastful concentration, leads to intense flavors of brambled berries and roasted meat. J. Bookwalter Merlot 2005

Columbia Valley, Washington



This merlot displays signature chocolate, espresso, bright cherry and clove aromatics. The wine enters the palate with sweet plum and cherry flavors and transitions seamlessly into a mid-palate that is broad and  viscous. The wine finishes with hints of vanilla and allspice followed by ripe, sweet tannins that linger for nearly one full minute.

J. Bookwalter Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Columbia Valley, Washington



The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon was aged exclusively in hand selected, small French oak barrels that were meticulously chosen for their richness and suitability for this particular variety of wine.  The ’04 Cabernet Sauvignon blend was aged for 20 months in mostly Taransaud and Sylvain barrels that beautifully framed in and lifted the fruit and earthiness from this vintage. The final blend displays bright cherry, black currants, graphite, cedar and cigar box aromas. Flavors of plums, cherries and bittersweet chocolate are wrapped around a core of dusty earth, tobacco and dried herbs. The wine finishes with ripe, fine-grained tannins that linger on the palate.

Rubicon Estate “Cask” Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

The 2005 Cask Cabernet Sauvignon has layers of intense mouth filling textures. Ripe, red cherries, plum, vanilla and toast are evident on the nose and palate. The wine is remarkable now, especially if served with intensely flavoured meats or cheeses, but it can also be aged for 10 years or more. This is a monumental vintage for CASK. The wine reveals a richness, structure and complexity that is rare in any wine.
